Carolina Hurricanes Opening Night Roster + Lineup Combinations

The Carolina Hurricanes submitted their roster to the league office but they sent defenseman Ryan Murphy to the AHL to get under the salary and are expected to bring him back prior to the opener. Defenseman Joni Pitkanen is expected to go on LTIR.

The players on the roster are as follows with possible line combinations and defensive pairings on opening night.

Some Hurricanes are injured and day... to day so the lineup is subject to change because of that. Lines may also be switched up by head coach Kirk Muller.

Format is left wing/center/right wing and Lines 1-4 but it is very subject to change:

Matthew Corrente is still on the roster but Ryan Murphy is expected to be brought back up to the NHL.

Carolina Hurricanes trade Zac Dalpe and Jeremy Welsh to Vancouver Canucks

The Carolina Hurricanes have traded right wing Zac Dalpe and center Jeremy Welsh to the Vancouver Canucks for 22 year old right wing Kellan Tochkin and a 2014 4th round pick in the NHL draft.

2013 NHL Draft Prospect Battle - Lindholm vs. Monahan vs. Nichushkin

The 2013 NHL Draft was considered one of the best drafts if not the best NHL draft since 2003. Did the Carolina Hurricanes make the right selection with Swedish center Elias Lindholm? Lindholm was evaluated to be a good two way center prospect with a solid international resume but they passed on another solid two way center prospect Sean Monahan and a Russian big and talented forward Valeri Nichushkin. Carolina also passed on very good defensemen but we'll stick with the forwards in this battle.
